Our New Place
We have been working so hard to get everything in order. Since everything had been moved out of the garage and attic, we decided it was the perfect time to do a little purging. I guess K would say that I decided and he just followed along. Besides having a beautiful addition on to our house, everything inside is looking much nicer and less cluttered! I'm hoping by the end of the week that I'll have everything back in order and all the pictures back up.
Here are the pictures from the side and from the back:
The new room is unfinished, and hopefully over the next few months, we can have the walls sheetrocked. I've been really concerned about the nails in the outer walls that are poking into the room - especially in the children's play corner. My Dad came over to help us put up some sheetrock (yay Dad!!) We got 6 sheets up in place! It makes a huge difference & makes the room so much safer for the kids to play in. I'll post some pics of the inside later on - hopefully tomorrow.

It's a done deal
Today is the first week day in about 5 weeks that no one has been here to do work on the house. Seems really odd to have so much peace in the morning. The job, for the workers, is done. Everything looks fantastic & we are so very pleased. Right now is the task of putting everything back where it goes. We are taking advantage of everything being out (especially in the garage) and doing a lot of purging & reorganization. That is a BIG job - how did we get so much stuff? There is a trip to Goodwill & to the dump in my near future. It is all coming along well, just got to keep at it and it will be done soon.
We are extremely pleased with how our office came out. We hadn't planned on getting work done in there until the ceiling had to come out - then came the new doors, new paint, and lastly new carpet. What a humungous difference it makes in the room. I'm so glad that we made that decision.
Below is a picture of the before and after. You have just got to **love** that beautiful yellow lineoleum from the 70's. I had that covered up with a brown rug.
I love the new carpet in the computer room. We also went with the smooth ceiling in both the garage & computer room. Really love that - no more popcorn!
Hopefully I'll have some more pictures to post later on this week.

When one door closes....
another one opens. I guess in this case, when one door gets ripped out, a new & improved, totally better door gets put in its place!
We have had trouble with the back door leaking and decided since we were getting new carpet, we should replace the door too. It's definitely a domino effect in the remodeling business. I am so glad that we made that decision. The floor had started rotting in and some of it was spreading to the floor joist. From what I hear, a rotting joist is not a good thing. It sure does make a tremendous difference in the room.
Here is the new door:
The project is winding down & I'll be posting more pictures later on in the week of some of the finished work. Tomorrow, the guys should be installing the carpet in the computer room. I am really looking forward to that because that means I will be able to put my computer back in its place! Yay! My computer has been sitting on my scrapbook desk for several weeks, so I am definitely excited about getting that back to normal.
The other good news is that my scrapbook stuff will be moving upstairs in the spare bedroom. I will have more space for my crafting and Jenna will have more space in the play room. Yay!

This girl ROCKS!!
It's almost hard to believe how much Jenna has learned this year...how much she has grown and changed. It has been amazing. She can read so many books all by herself. Our favorites are some of the Dr. Seuss books - Green Apples up on Top, Green Eggs and Ham, Go Dog Go! She does so well. Today, she amazed me again. She brought home the most beautiful picture of a tiger - just an awesome picture. I am so proud. She definitely ROCKS!!

It just makes me giddy!
As the project manager said yesterday, we are on the downhill slide. Probably by the end of next week, the job will be complete & life will return back to normal...or at least semi-normal ha! ha! Yesterday, they added some "green stuff", not exactly sure what it is, but they need to add it before the siding. It reminds me of the color of my Granny's house.
So here's what the house looked like on Monday afternoon.
There has been a great attention to detail and in the past couple of days, several of those details have been taken care of. The room is wired with electricity, phone, and cable. Dh is already planning where the big screen TV will be going (another ha!ha!) He is really excited about the room, and to be honest, I am too. The room is really big & spacious. The contractor is taking care of everything and from my viewpoint, everything is coming along nicely. Today the guys put up some siding and even a set of shutters!! Just loving it!!
More pics:
I bet they will get a bigger chunk of it done tomorrow. Tune in for more pics later in the week!
